Dr. Paul Farmer has died.

There will plenty of places to read well written columns about Dr. Farmer, like NPR.

For those who need to get a little more information about the man, the doctor, the humanitarian, try Mountains Beyond Mountains, by Tracy Kidder. There are other books; this one is just a great introduction.

His work might not seem like it touched our areas of concern in medicine, but I would gladly argue that it touches every area and has done so for years.
